Squats & Arms – Freestyle Workout for 1 September 2017

I’m feeling ready for a new month of training. Traveling a lot this year has not allowed for much consistency. And consistency is pretty much required for results. Even though this is the last weekend before I travel again, I’ve got a good plan to keep putting up the weight. It will pretty much consist of morning cardio/muscular endurance combined with power lifting techniques in the afternoon. I’ll be writing all about it here, so stay tuned.

This morning I woke up happy. It was one of those mornings where you feel motivated to workout but your body is asking you to be nice to it. Squats were back on the docket, so I decided a 5×5 followed by some muscular endurance training would be dynamite. I also added in some arm work to keep the blood flowing. Feeling sore in the chest and a little stiff, I took my time to warm up, and focused on getting my whole body ready for the workout.

Warm Up

  • Arm & Shoulder Rotation
  • Bodyweight Squats
  • Bend & Reach
  • Overhead Press
  • Biceps Curl
  • French Press
  • Upright Row
  • Shoulder Shurgs, Front & Back

Conditioning 

  • Back Squat 5×5, 225lbs
  • Compound-set, 4 sets
  •  – Sumo Back Squat, Max Reps, 135lbs
  •  – EZ Bar Biceps Curl, Max Reps, 65lbs
  •  – EZ Bar French Press, Max Reps, 65lbs
